Over a 5-year partnership, we collaborated with DHL.com and their five business units to align business and content needs. From this foundation, I designed a comprehensive design system tailored for their Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

Creating a Cohesive Design System
Building on DHL’s existing brand system, I designed a comprehensive design system in Figma, defining variables, base and complex components, and establishing the website’s overall structure.
Adaptable and Flexible Layouts
Page templates and layouts were fully responsive, handling complex content across 154 countries while supporting localization, translation, and diverse product offerings.
Component Guidance
I provided detailed documentation outlining the new design system and component usage, educating DHL content authors on how to apply the system effectively which supported successful implementation.
Blueprint and Layout Guidance
DHL’s complex requirements called for intentionally designed layouts that balanced flexibility, scalability, and diverse content needs across countries. We developed a system that maintained consistency and recognizable patterns while allowing each page layout to adapt to local variations and offerings.
WCAG AA Compliance
Maintaining WCAG AA compliance was required for multiple countries. Throughout this project I learned to deeply understand the requirements and apply them throughout the system
